How did you get started in Bodybuilding? "I was a late bloomer, as I started competing at 40. I had quit playing corporate league basketball and needed another way to fuel my competitive fires. As I had a wife and family already, natural bodybuilding seemed like, well, a natural fit." |

Nathan's Nutrition Plan: "A 40/40/20 ratio is a good basic strategy but of course an off season diet is vastly different than pre-contest. Off season I include healthy fats like peanuts, avocado and olive oil. A few extra pounds will help the joints in heavy lifting and will also aid in increasing natural GH and test levels. Pre-contest, I start 3 months out, allowing for about 1-1.5 lb loss per wk. As I cut calories I increase cardio, using the mirror not the scale. I do my bf% as warranted, but I don't get crazy about it." |

What do you love most about Bodybuilding? "What I love most about bodybuilding is the discipline. I'm a bit of a control freak and it's rare in life that what you get out is in direct correlation to what you put in. Though it may not always seem like it, bodybuilding is that way. My workout is like an oasis in the middle of an otherwise often stressful day here in NYC." |
