Have you always been in shape? No, I was in horrible shape in my early 20's. I ate junk food all the time and never workout. I started to feel sluggish and started putting on body fat. I decided enough was enough and joined a gym. I started to work out and eat healthy and never looked back. Now I am a personal trainer.
How did you get started in physique competitions? I signed up for one even though I had no idea what I was doing. I wanted to be like a fitness girl on a cover of a magazine. It was my dream. I learned everything about competing by myself.
Describe your training philosophy: Train hard and never give up
What are your favorite exercises? I love pullups, makes me feel strong and love how my lats have developed. Also I like plyometrics for lower body, my legs and butt look great!
What is your diet like in the off season? 80% clean. I like to cheat with pizza, chocolate and wine.
Describe your diet during contest prep: 1200 calories, high protein, moderate carbs, low fat. I have noticed that I do not lose weight if my fat is over 20grams per day.
What advice would you give to aspiring athletes? Never give up your dreams. With hard work and determination you can get there!
What have you learned about yourself as a physique competitor? I have learned that I can achieve the impossible. I just placed 2nd in a fitness model competition and 5th in Figure, October 2009.
What are your plans for the future? I am going for my WNSO Fitness Model Pro Card, and would like to succeed in placing 1st in figure.
