I have always spiked a leg out for my front poses (biceps, abs, hands-on-hips, lats, crab). Now, with some off-season quad growth, I'm thinking about hitting the front poses with my legs together. Here are a couple of comparisons. Please tell me which leg position looks better for me. Thanks.

Wow,,, I was about to say I think that you show more cut on the spike. It would probably be good to break it up though and do both.

By the way,,,, looks like that fireplace won a lot of trophies :)

I agree with seeing more cut on the spike. I was coming from an overall asthetic stance. With the spike he kind of looks... gangly for lack of a better word, with the legs together I get a better sense of balance and symmetry.

That fireplace ROCKS!

Thanks for your excellent feedback.

I am going to use the legs together pose for Front Biceps, Front Lats Spread, Hands-On-Hips and Crab. Of course I will spike one leg out for Quads and Abs. I also spike one leg back for Rear Lats and Rear Biceps. I think I look thicker and fuller in the front poses with my legs together, flexed, slightly bent with my knees rotated out. My chest is 40" and my waist is 30" giving me good upper body symmetry. With my legs together, I believe it helps create a more symmetrical look top to bottom.

These shots were taken in my posing studio at home where I coach bodybuilders and figure competitors in the fine points of posing and stage presentation. I keep my trophies, including my five Best Poser Awards, won in 30 shows on the book shelves and fireplace mantle as encouragement to my students.
