good evening,

Return II: 17 Feb 10

Back Primary:

Good Mornings: 5 x 5 x 185
Deadlift:
1 x 3 x 185
1 x 3 x 225
1 x 2 x 275 work begins here
1 x 1 x 315
1 x 1 x 375
1 x 3 x 425
Lat Pulldowns 5 x 5 x 185 done add five
T Bar Rows: 5 x 5 x 145 done add five

NOTES:

biceps tomorrow... 425 is HEAVY on the deadlift... that's no belt, no wraps, no suit, no briefs, no gloves, no chalk folks... I'm bout as old school as they come in the weight room... really want to know it's ME liftin that bar, and not equipment... back is sore tonight, but surprisingly, so are triceps... not sure if that's left over from chest/tri day, or if it means I'm firing up the tris to help with heavy deads... I'll watch that as we go the next cycle...

have a great night,

Nice deadlift! Especially sans equipment!! :clapping:

good morning,

thanks, DFBB76712...

kinda like bench... I'm sore in places that I really didn't think had ANYTHING to do with deadlift... triceps?? really?? but yup, I am... and I was just... weary.. last night... really really tired... 5-3-1 has one brutal week, and that's singles week... if you do it right, you're going to be tired and sore... man I must be perfect... cuz I"m miserably sore today... start round two on monday, tomorrow I take My kids to highland park for a powerlifting meet...

have a great day,
Stats:

Chest: 55.5 Squat: 475
Waist: 43.5 Bench: 455
Biceps: 19.25 Dead : 495

Yes....5/3/1 is painful..but effective! I squatted, leg pressed, and did goodmornings Sunday, and today was the first day this week my hams were not sore(I think it's the last set that gets you)!

good evening,

yup, todd... you're spot on... it's absolutely the last set that knocks you out if you do it right... mind all set for a specific number of reps, and if you quit there, you KNOW you had more in the tank and your mind is weak... so doing it right means you're driven on that last set to get that one... last... painful... rep... no ... matter... what... and yup... that wears you out...

'brutally efficient' comes to mind...

I'm over being sore in the chest... finally... five days later... from singles no less... back wasn't so bad for some reason... and ready for round two on monday...

have a great night,
