Since my former thunder thighs are now more like fierce bolts of lightning ( let me have my illusion, don’t spoil the fantasy) you would think I could harness some of that energy into the flow of my running. It was a gorgeous day weather wise in my part of the country , the perfect day for a nice a nd easy 30 minute tempo run. The cool crisp air was making passionate love to my lungs as the warmth of the sun bathed my skin.

:blah:I had a drama free run, today. I was at peace and it put me in this mellowed out mood. My only thoughts were It is a blessing to be healthy and whole. I am thankful that I finally became wise enough to start taking care of this temple known as my body. Becoming overweight and being out of shape was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I always took my health for granted until I almost lost everything. I am so thankful of this second chance, I really am one blessed woman. :D

Okay I have to go get ready for my day of rest, yes it is that blessed time of week where I power down and give the ones that I love some precious face time. G-d willing I will be back on the running trails and back under the weight bar on Sunday.

:) Until next time be blessed everyone appreciate everything and take nothing for granted

“I want G_d to bless this team so much people will talk about what He did. But it means we gotta give Him our best in every area. And if we win, we praise Him. And if we lose, we praise Him. Either way we honor Him with our actions and our attitudes. So I'm askin' you... What are you living for? I resolve to give G_d everything I've...

It so easy, at least in my case, to treat my blessings as though they are things that I deserve, so I have to continually remind myself.

My mind was in total domination mode, my body shifted into no way dudette gear and my spirit was in Rodney King “Why can’t we just get along” mode. There always comes various points in my training where internal conflict connects with external poise and grace. My alter ego, Little Miz Lazybones is notorious for showing up when I need to take care of business. A nasty little spirit of dread, flooded over me as I looked at the training schedule.
:blah:
The ability to keep pushing forward when I would rather not is how this battle is won. I had no choice but to snap on my big girl panties and enter the no whine zone. I only had a itsy bitty 3 mile run to conquer, but it felt like a long three miles. I was able to ramp up the momentum during the last mile and I finished at turbo turtles pace. I struggle and strain to shave even a second off of my pathetically slow time. Today I finished 2minutes and 23 seconds faster than anticipated. Nothing to write home about but it was my own personal happy dance moment.
:blah:
I am engulfed in training sessions at the moment so my own personal weight training has to be kept to a minimum. A short but effective session was on the menu, it was all about bringing more angst to my lower body. I couldn’t go to heavy, seriously the lunges were wearing me out, by the time I got through with the dead lifts, I knew I had had enough fun for one day.

:hmm:Life can be filled with heartache, drama, trauma, joy, disappointment and excitement. Life can stab you in the back with pain and touch your heart with love. Life can kiss you with sweet blessings and then turn around and gouge your eyes out with mind numbing grief. Life is a complex mystery hidden in a simple solution.

Live well everyone oh and……………….
Never allow what could have been, keep you from experiencing what can be

Note: keep praying for me people you know I am sustained by a very simple faith, and a continual supply of hot tea. Be Blessed everyone.

My premenopausal hormones are having a wild time. Actually, I think they have banded together and formed a rebellion my own body is out to get me. I am strong, I am weak, I am heaven sent and hell bent all in the course of one freaking, I mean one wonderful day. I will get straight to the point, because I don’t dare write the thoughts speeding through my brain.

:blah:My training today was borderline sad. The running of the stairs, felt as though I was caught in my own little nightmare. My energy levels seemed extremely low and I ended the session feeling like a worthless old hound that wanted to be taken out of her misery.
When It was time to weight train my mind was saying raw power, my performance said old marshmallow gal.

I didn’t improve in any of my lifts and I was really frustrated with myself momentarily. I just had to regroup and make the best of those disadvantages that got swept under my door. Now is the only time that is promised to me and if life throws me hormonal upset I have to try and tame that tiger.

:wave:I am sending words of encouragements, to all of those dedicated souls, on the pathway to reaching their dreams. Never relinquish the dream and stand firm.

Crystal clear darkness, yep that would be about the clarity of my mental capacities at the moment. The monthly rituals of womanhood not only affect my athletic prowess (yes, this grandma has skills…if only in her dreams) but hampers my intellectual response time.

The Buffedstuff translation reads like this, her mind resets to duh mode.

:blah: DUH mode is when I look for lost keys that I am holding in my hand. It’s the time of month when you ask me a question, I will usually give you a time delayed answered. The old screen of duh just pops up an my thought patterns freeze. It is also the time of month I want to take up social causes. I could start my own revolution. This month I want to make the world a better place by holding all pet owner responsible for cleaning up after their little furry friends. Hey if your animal does the doo on the sidewalk, eradicate the poo. :blah:

How bad does this impeded my training cycle? Well, I am still slow, I call it my granny butt dragging speed. The intensity isn’t quite the same and I just sort of go with the ebb and flow of my body literally.

The passion however remains, there is this inspirational biblical drama where Jacob encountered an angel, they got into this wrestling match and Jacob vowed not to let the angel go until the angel blessed him. He hung in there until he got his blessing. That is the way I feel about this process, I am not going to let go until I get what I want.

May peace always guard your heart and may love comfort your soul, be blessed everyone.

some quick training notes.:blah:

Today’s weather was a heaven sent gift that I was indeed thankful for, it was sunny and warm. The temperature hit seventy degrees in my part of the city and I am enjoying it. Today we ran the trails, my job was to keep it spicy and steady at a tempo pace. I managed to keep my speed in check but it took me the longest to cool down. My entire body was screaming for a massage after today’s training, my body has really taken a pounding in the past few weeks. My performance expectations are still higher than what my body has adapted too, it is just going to take time.

Yes, we all know that time is not a promise or a guarantee so it is wise to make the most of each opportunity. This flawed old granny has much room for improvement, please tell me that life doesn’t really start until fifty and that everything up until then is practice. That will give me a year to work on some of my many shortcomings.:blah:

Train safe everyone and by the grace of G-d I will be back online by Monday.

I missed your title above, "Eradicate the poo".

Is that from the Ben Stiller, Jack Black movie, "Greed"

That is a very funny movie that just didn't catch on..."Where did it (the poo) go? No one knows!"

I never saw the movie Greed but I am sure if Ben Stiller was in it it was probably wild.:)

My run this morning began smooth and silky, the first mile was a luxurious glide. I was feeling no pain and I was able to maintain s comfortable pace, it was all good. When I hit mile two, it was time to pick up the pace and somehow everything started to fall apart, the wind became very gusty and it doesn’t take much to toss my small frame around. There were moments when I felt like I was on some wicked roller coaster ride. I was being pushed around and by the time I got to my last mile I had to struggle and fight against the wind. Today’s run felt more like a boxing match, than a run.

:blah:I just have to push through and train with intensity for a little while longer. You know I am tired when I start counting the days when it is time to take a break. 10 more days and this training series will be history. Not that my future training schedule looks any better than where I am now. At least I didn’t have to be thrown in the nasty …( the nasty is what I call open water swimming although it could be use too refer to anything I simply am not fond of) Example oh no I am not eating the nasty ( referring to my precious mother in laws cooking, may she rest in peace) Oh gosh I look nasty ( anytime I have to wear clothing that is not color coordinated…yes I have phobias)

It’s not that open water swimming bothers me:help: it is the polluted waters,( Why did we trash our own water supply???? )not that a chemical laden pool makes me feel any better. My body has mutated and it thrives more on those harsh pool compounds. Oh well it is what it is and if I want to play the game I have to jump in the water, well I guess I will swim across that lake when the time comes.:hmm:

As for now it is simply about crushing one training session at a time. ( You people really should pray that G-d would helps this poor little old knuckled-head woman)

Work it people and don’t give up!

Just getting caught up on this journal and there are too many good quotes for me to pick out just one or two. But,,,,
He hung in there until he got his blessing. That is the way I feel about this process, I am not going to let go until I get what I want.
That one really stands out. I'll keep praying for you, you
poor little old knuckled-head woman
It sounds like you have more drive in your little pinky than most people carry in their entire body. How do you contain it all? :hmm:
