I definitely prefer pyramid sets feeling that the progressive resistance helps to develop both fast and slow twitch fibers and reduce the risk of injury. I'll often followup a pyramid set with one high rep burnout set.

I did 9 months of personal research on Calisthenics only and started lifting again two months ago. I still don't know exactly what to make of the data, but I like doing one week of straight sets (5-10 reps) followed by a week of calisthenics for now. On the week I do cali for legs, I'll be hitting chest with the weights. I like it because it gives more rest time for each muscle group from the heavy lifts, but still hits them in a different way with the cali. Lats I do every week with pull ups, body weight rows and DB rows.

Although I like lifts answer a lot too.
