Ok I have had way to many Charlie horses in my quads and Calves any suggestions why so many? I have been drinking my normal water consumptions and plenty of bananas but still getting Double barrel Hamstring Charlies. Any help would be great.

Are you just starting back into doing legs heavy or trying a new routine? I have this problem occasionally when starting a new routine or after a layoff and starting back on heavy squats. One thing I have learned that actually helps is doing about 10-15 min of walking after finishing my leg workout. Or sometimes I'll actually try a slow-moderate jog for 15 min the day after legs. I think it will pass.....but it does suck to get a hammy charlie horse!

Didn't think about that Todd, new routine. What really dropped me to the floor was the other day when I was lifting in squats and I got a double Barrel Hamstring charlie out me right to the floor.

You might also be lacking sodium in your diet. In general, too much salt is not good, but not enugh and that's not good either, and it can cause muscle cramps. You may also be missing another mineral.

I've also had this problem by not warming up at all. Now I stretch and work my way up to heavy weights when doing legs or even just cardio.
