TOPIC: Night sweats?? Please help!

Night sweats?? Please help! 2 years 2 months ago #36859

Hi there.
I am training, and have been for a few months now, for my first competitions. I have been working out all my life, but just this year started to eat clean and really take up bodybuilding.

One problem that I have run into pretty often is waking up in the middle of the night, (sometimes twice a night) and experiencing severe hot-flash like symptoms. My whole body literally feels like it is on fire. This especially happens (but hasn't been limited to) after leg days.

I was wondering: what the science is behind it? if anyone else has experienced it?

All experienced replys are appreciated. :)

Are you using any supplements?
Are night sweats associated with nightmares?

Ditto Vegan's questions. Also,, are you on any medications, how long has it been occurring and have you noticed a pattern? Have you discussed it with your health care provider?

The night sweats only occur when I drop my carbs low. (That I know for sure.) As for waking up, I have been playing with my diet lately, and I have found that I just HAVE to eat at night. It is not uncommon, and it happens weather I take a fat-burner or not. My body is in constant repair at this point.

If I can tollerate not eating a proper dinner, I will have a shake like this before bed:
1 Scoop of IsoNatural Whey Protein
1 (or 1/2) Scoops of Natural Unflavored Casein Protein
1 Tbsp of Peanut Butter
Some type of smaller fast carb, and a serving of complex carbs. After this I sleep like a baby.
