That sucks! Why can't we have the metabolism of men? We work out too and have a lot of muscle. I thought muscle was supposed to burn calories???

Testosterone, grrr. But I firmly believe it will catch up with them (keeps me slightly saner).

I know it is frustrating, my husband cleans up his food for one week and instantly looks better....I , on the other hand, obsess about my meals, obsess about my workouts, obsess about my water and have to bust my ass for the slightest change.

Oddly, though, sweets aren't my downfall - cake and pastries are usually too sweet, and make me ill.

My downfall is Thai food, Vietnamese food, Indian food... I crave FLAVOR. At least I can try and make lowfat, less carb healthier versions of the things I like so much :)

Hang in there, ladies. The longer you eat clean, the worse all those things taste and the sicker they make you, which is good in a negative reinforcement kind of way......

But sometimes you havve to have just a small portion of the things you crave (not you, Dana-getting-ready-for-a-show:))(but after the show...) to get over the craving. Remember - you can fit anything into a healthy eating plan as long as you allow for the calories/fat/carbs in your daily plan and as long as it isn't an every day occurrence.

You have to pick that one Ultimate goal and then base every decision on furthering it. That is how you succeed.

When you get the answer to that, let me know. We'll all be rich!! My husband eats hardly any protein and all his carbs are too processed in my opinion, but somehow he puts on muscle and keeps a low bodyfat.

Here is what he eats daily:
Breakfast - 2 Kelloggs Multigrain Waffles with Natty PB and SF Syrup
Lunch - Deli Turkey (4 slices) on Whole Wheat Bread with cheese and Sweet Potato Chips, 1 apple
Snack - Kelloggs Protein Meal Bar
Dinner - Whatever I cook him. I try to make it healty, but he is very picky, so it's usually something like spaghetti made with lean beef, ww pasta and no sugar added sauce.
Bedtime Snack - Bowl of Kashi Cereal and Milk

If I ate that crap, I'd be floppy!! The man never touches a sweet potato or brown rice. He also drinks about 4 diet Mtn. Dews per day and not a whole lot of water. He drinks 3 or 4 beers on Fri and Sat night and Saturday is his "cheat DAY". Not meal, DAY. He eats chicken biscuits and pizza and peanut butter cup sundaes from Brusters. I chew on a tasty carrot. Yum.

I have to chime in on this one because it is the exact opposite in my house. My wife is 5'3" around 130-135lbs 33 years old and has had 3 kids in the last 7 years and still looks great. When we met in 1997 she weighed 130lbs. She use to lift weights and exercise regularly but over the past few years she does very little other than walk a little every few days. Her diet looks almost exactly like Dana's husband(no bedtime snack) along with 4-5 beers or glasses wine/week and she never gains a pound. I have yet to figure this out....genetics maybe??......chasing 3 kids around 24/7?? Her father and all her siblings are very muscular and no one has ever lifted weights other than my wife. I guess we are all dealt with what the Lord gives us. I've worked very hard to look like I do and continue to work to keep it. However it does piss me off when I'm drinking whey with water at night while I'm watching my wife eat a plate of chili cheese fries and a corona(It will catch up to her one day and she will be eating like me!!)
