I bought my wife a Wii Fit and an inversion table for Christmas. She seems to really like the Wii Fit and I seem to really like the inversion table. She has arthritis and I'm hoping that this will help to reduce the pain in her back, but so far I seem to be enjoying it the most. Inversion has many health benefits and I even seem to sleep better after using it.

Anyone else here invert?

I gotta admit, the Wii Fit is much better than I expected,,,, and my wife is actually using it (don't tell her I posted this).

This could actually replace a few different types of exercise machines and its interactive.
Cool

Hey Kerry,

I hope this isn't a stupid question but how do you use the inversion table. Just lie in it and it turns until your head is down, feet are up? Does this shift weight off your back & hips? Do you have a problem being in there very long with the blood rushing to your head or is it comfortable?

I have another stupid statement. I think I'm shrinking, I used to be 5' 7" in my early 20's and I just don't think so anymore. Would an inversion table help with something like that...uncompressing the spine or is that more like (think the Andy Griffith Show when they tried to stretch Barney in the closet to make him taller) a neck suspension harness than an inversion table?

Thanks, Kevin

You start by adjusting the height of the inversion table so that your weight is evenly balanced when you lay back on the table. When properly balanced, you can change your position from standing, to laying parallel to the ground, to what ever degree of inversion you prefer simply by raising or lowering your arms.

When first beginning to use an inversion table, the feeling of pressure in your face and head can be very uncomfortable. This diminishes over time and latter becomes hardly noticeable.

Regular use of an inversion table does indeed help to uncompress the spine and while I have heard that it can indeed make a person slightly taller, I haven't seen any documentation. My wife is still 5' 1/2" (don't tell her but I think that she is really just 5' tall - Stay away from that phone Lucie :D)
