Fitness Trainer Jeremy Scott

I recently began bodybuilding after graduating from college and I plan to start competing this coming October 2008 in my first big show. My goal is to get into the best shape of my life and be competitive at a high level on the Natural circuit. Being Natural you have to work twice as hard as the other guys who take steroids to look amazing, and it's well worth the work, I wouldn't have it any other way. I am proud to tell people I am and always will be a 100% Natural Bodybuilder!

How did you get started in Bodybuilding?

I have always loved bodybuilding and recently graduated from college and after a successful collegiate basketball career, I needed another challenge something more to compete in and bodybuilding was the answer.

What is your training philosophy?

Whatever you put into bodybuilding, is exactly what you will get out of it. Push yourself on every set until it hurts and than do one more. It's those forced reps that spark growth and make the difference.

What is your diet like?

Diet is clean for the most part, and I eat almost the exact same thing everyday it helps me to keep the calorie count and this way I know exactly what is going into my body. Oatmeal is my main source of carbohydrates I eat oatmeal 3-4 times a day. 2 servings of Broccoli a day along with bananas and blueberries, I also eat a lot of ground turkey, chicken breast, along with whey protein after my workouts. I try and consume 3,500 calories a day along with 200-250 grams of protein. I also cheat one meal just to keep my sanity.

Who are your role models?

In the bodybuilding world I look at Arnold Schwarzenegger as a role model. Not solely based on his physique or his 7 Mr. Olympia titles, but for everything he has done to promote the sport he loves so much. It's amazing how far bodybuilding has come in the last 30 years and Arnold was a huge factor in that.

What advice would you give to new athletes?

Work hard and find something that motivates you to be great, never lose sight of your goals and what you want to accomplish. Understand results don't happen over night, but with time and hard work it will be well worth it. Remember this one thing, never compare yourself to other people in the gym, in the magazines, or on T.V., just be the best you can be. At the end of it all if your ambitions exceeds your talent you will be champion.
