Meet Lift for Life.com Model of the Month for June-2004, Bill Simpson.
Bill lives in San Francisco CA where he competes as a Natural Physique Athlete. Having been overweight for most of his life, Bill made the commitment thirteen years ago to have the “sculpted body” that he had always dreamed about. After several years of hard work and dedication, Bill has not only reached his goal but has become a role model for others to follow as well. Bill realized that weight training alone would not be sufficient to meet his goal. To excel, he had to train his mind as well.

Bill says that through reading, learning from workout partners and trainers that he learned how to manipulate his own body. Bill has taken this experience a step further by becoming a personal trainer as well. Bills last contest was the Max Muscle Natural where he won his class.
We asked Bill if he had any advice for new trainers or those who would like to pursue bodybuilding.

"My advice to those who would like to get into bodybuilding would be to do some research before you start. Talk to other bodybuilders that have competed recently and see what their experience has been. And keep in mind that the minute you tell someone you are going to compete, people will start telling you what to do. What they are telling you is what worked for THEM - may not work for you.
As far as trainers - if you haven't competed in one show and are interested...try it out. It may be something that is not for you but it gives you another tool for your toolbelt. By the time you step foot on stage you will have learned so much about your body and how to manipulate it."
