LT (Lemuel) Thomas
Some people are recreational athletes, occasionally playing sports to stay active or just have something to do. Others are more competitive, pushing themselves to the limit to see what they are truly capable of. Others still not only live the fitness lifestyle, they believe in it strongly enough to preach it with evangelistic fervor. Our current Bodybuilding Model of the Month LT (Lemuel) Thomas is a believer. LT admits that he has been involved in sports nearly all of his life, but his true passion is helping others to create their own fitness lifestyle.
"Fitness is my passion. I love seeing people improve their quality of life. I have a strong desire to help other reach their goals. I want to continue to change lives and be a health and fitness role model."
In his own words:
Being a fitness trainer and a competitive bodybuilder is not just a hobby or a career for me, it’s my life style.
Fitness is my passion. I love seeing people improve their quality of life. I have a strong desire to help other reach their goals. I want to continue to change lives and be a health and fitness role model.
In December 2006 a few people told LT that he should compete in a bodybuilding competition. Though he had worked out most of his life he never thought about competing as a bodybuilder until then. In fact, LT had never even attended a bodybuilding show until his very first competition.
By January of 2007, LT had decided to give competitive bodybuilding a shot. He knew very little about it – he didn’t even know all the mandatory posing. He started doing research and met a few people who gave him guidance and assistance in this new endeavor.

LT placed first in his class in five competitions in his first year of competing. As most bodybuilders can attest, this isn’t an easy accomplishment “Some people just want compete. I didn’t just want to compete, I wanted to win,” says LT. Being a competitive bodybuilder isn’t just about winning for me, it’s about setting an example for my clients. I want them to see that they can do anything they put their minds too.
Staying Motivated
LT says that preparing for a show is one of the hardest things that he’s ever done. But he points out it is also one of the most rewarding. Each show drives him further to improve himself and makes him more determined to succeed. LT believes that no matter how hard something is, if you come short of your goals, it will only make you stronger. So, don’t give up.
LT offers a mentoring/fitness class for young men ages 12-17 every Saturday. LT started weight training at a very young age and created this program to combat the current youth obesity epidemic, address the need for quality youth activities, and teach strategies & skills necessary to live a healthy lifestyle.
Personal Note:
"Being that I am a personal trainer I meet a lot of different individuals who want to get into shape. Sometimes clients just want to get into shape to look good. Looking good is a great thing. It definitely builds confidents and self-esteem but that's not the most important reason to start an exercise regiment. First and foremost, your health is the most important thing. If you aren't healthy, you can't enjoy life. Working out will improve your quality of life. You will feel better, look better and enjoy life much more. This is why I became a trainer and this is also why I work so hard on my body."
Because of his commitment to drug free physical excellence and passion for helping others, Lift for Life is honored to name Lemuel (LT) Thomas as Bodybuilding Model of the Month.
