Meet Lift for Life.com Model of the Month Shalom Singer, an athlete whose ambitions reach as high as her kicks.
Shalom's competitive career as a figure athlete began in 2006 with the NGA Northeast Figure Competition. To say that it was a challenge would be an understatement. Shalom knew that it would be difficult and her training reflected her determination. But Shalom is no stranger to challenges. As a former Junior Olympian and champion athlete, Shalom knows that quality results require focused effort.
"Work hard for what you want, but stay focused on what you need"

As she walked onto the stage with her class of figure competitors, few would know of the unorthodox training style that led her to this point. Shalom fights for results,,,,, literally!
Shalom's athletic resume includes the gambit of traditional sports from track and field to swimming and football. But to gain an edge in the uncharted arena of figure competition Shalom took a different approach, Kickboxing! Under the tutelage of former Shoot Fighting champion Sam Muratore, Shalom donned a pair of sparing gloves and learned the sweet science of hand to hand combat. Nothing was spared as she traded leather with Muratore using a combination of boxing, kickboxing and judo in a martial art style known as "Thai Cru". Training as a natural athlete, Shalom says that she doesn't have time to think about steroids because results come so quickly under this style of training.
"They receive rapid results in record time because we're training like no one else is training; you’re training like a fighter."

In her own words, Shalom's training program is as follows.
My training program consists of many different elements. My trainer Sam Muratore ( champion cage fighter and developer of Thai-Cru) made up my program based on his knowledge and expertise in the martial arts and fitness realm. A sample week routine would go something like this:
Monday: Chest, Triceps, Trapezes
Tuesday: Pilate's (w/ weights), Aerobic Kickboxing
Wednesday: Legs, Deltoids, Thai-Cru
Thursday: Aerobic Kickboxing, Swimming
Friday: Back, Biceps, Calf's

As if her active lifestyle and training program doesn't keep her busy enough, Shalom also finds time to help younger women in the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle.
"I just finished teaching a fitness program of young women 12-15 years old with the YMCA. We are called NFL young women (Nutrition, Fitness, Life), we are official baby!!! The young women and I explored the world of nutrition and how it effects them at this age. In the Fitness realm we explored Pilate's, kickboxing, and I introduced them into the world of weight training. We also explored Life, where we are at, what's to come, and how to deal with life's good and bad. On our last day we had a big bang with a spa day!!! I really enjoyed my young women, and can't wait to start back up in October."
Because of her commitment to drug free physical excellence and her dedication to helping others, Lift for Life is honored to name Shalom Singer as the Figure Model of the Month.
