How did you get started in Bodybuilding?

My boyfriend introduced to me lifting weights back in high school when we were 19 years old. After teaching me the basics, we then became training partners. Two years into lifting, I picked up Oxygen Magazine and was simply taken back by the fitness and figure competitors physiques. I guess you could say that this was one of my "ah ha" moments.. I decided that I would then start to train for my first figure competition. Shortly thereafter, I inspired my boyfriend to step on stage. It's been four years later we are both still competing!

What is your training philosophy?

"TRAIN HARD"

In order to improve my physique I like to follow a well rounded exercise regimen. Training your body is all about balance. Cardio and weight training are both necessary and if you want to transform your physique, you need to attack it from all angles! I train with weights five days a week, cardio four days a week and sprinting, bleacher work and plyometirc work three times a week to condition me for my fitness routines.

What is your diet like?

I am currently working with IFFB Pro competitor Fakhri Mubarak. My diet consists mostly of lean protein sources such as: fish, grilled chicken or lean turkey. My complex carbohydrates come from yams, oatmeal, brown rice and lentils and my fats come from monounsaturated fats like olive oil and flaxseed oil.

Who are your role models?

Anyone who can push themselves to limits they never thought possible. In achieving an obstacle, one must be strong mentally and physically, they must be willing to push themselves to the fullest extent possible through hard work, motivation, and dedication... these are the ones who succeed in life and it is absolutely beautiful.

Be the best that you can be...get up when you fall down and never give up because you can succeed. You can transform your life with diet and exercise and changing your lifestyle habits can be done no matter what.

Im new to the figure compitition and am now in training for my first comp in June.
Just had to say what amazing shape you are in! That picture above is now my new motivation to be the best i can be.
