"I lift for life not really to show off"
Matthew Eubanks
Matthew Eubanks:
Excuses can be more debilitating than an injury. In fact, some people revel in excuses claiming that they would exercise and lose weight if only,,,,, you fill in the blank. But other people, people like Matthew Eubanks know that excuses are just that, and that if you can't do what you want, at least do what you can!
Due to some unfortunate circumstances, Matthew found himself bedridden for nearly 2 years. It would take several knee surgeries after which Matthew would progress from a bed to a wheel chair, and from a walker to crutches until he could finally walk on his own. His body was wasting due to the prolonged inactivity and Matthew was paying a terrible price. In his own words,
"My muscle all over my body became so very weak and I gained a lot of fat. I had a very bad sleeping disorder from all the drugs I was on for my knee pain - I was very lucky to get 3 to 4 hours of sleep at night."

"After surgery, I was told I needed to have Physical Therapy on my leg. So I went 3 days a week for this "fun". It was very painful at first but soon I really started to enjoy lifting. My body responded quickly and I was then hooked! Now was the time to get the fat off and get my old butt in shape!"
Good habits can be just as addictive as bad ones, and as Matthew's body began to respond in a positive way, he was hooked.
"I got serious in June 2006. I was really loving the workouts but still was eating Chinese buffets and drinking a lot of Pepsi Cola. (my weakness).
I contacted Chuck Rudolf, www.dietsbychuck.com, and he helped me with my food choices. Nothing crazy or hard at first, but soon it got strict. With Chucks help, I have made some kick butt changes. My results are from a few things that I swear by."

While Matthew is eager to share the secrets of this success with others, the fact is that there really is no secrete. Matthew worked for his results, plain and simple.
Did he deprive himself? Yes
Did he have cravings? Definitely
Was it easy? NO
Was it worth it? Obviously.
One look at what Matthew Eubanks has accomplished should be enough to get anyone out of their chair and into a gym. Unfortunately however, many will continue to cling to their old excuses preferring to do nothing to anything at all. But Matthew? He's still training and looking better than ever.
