better than coffee brain hacks 2Brain Hacks that Work Better than Coffee:

Coffee has been heralded as the solution to fatigue, memory loss, and lack of focus for a long time, but it can also come with some undesirable side effects such as jitteriness. Despite this, coffee is consumed by the bucketful at offices and construction sites around the world, and businesses such as Starbucks are booming. But is this jolt of caffeine the only answer to everyone's memory enhancement issues? The truth is that coffee can be an effective way to get the most out of your mind, but there are also some brain hacks you can use that are more powerful and, in some cases, easier to use than a caffeinated beverage.

Sleeping

What could be easier than drinking a cup of coffee? The best answer is sleeping, but many people have sleep issues that prevent them from enjoying this extremely simple brain hack. If you feel like you are sleeping for several hours at night but still wake up tired, then you are not getting the kind of sleep you need. Unfortunately, your body is suffering because of it.

Everyone needs six to eight hours of quality sleep each night for their brains and bodies to regenerate. When you sleep, your body takes in oxygen and sends it to all of your vital organs, including your brain. If your sleep is interrupted or you do not get into a deep sleep, your brain is not getting that critical supply of oxygen and your memory retention and focus will suffer. After a few nights of truly deep sleep, you may not even want to pick up the coffee cup anymore because it will be naturally easier to focus throughout the day.

Nootropics

If you are unfamiliar with the term nootropics, then you may know them better by their nickname: smart drugs. Nootropics are the memory supplements that are sweeping the nation, and with good reason. Old and young business professionals are using these brain enhancers, and many of them have reported that they are getting results that help keep them ahead of their competition. Here are a few nootropics you can look into to help improve your memory, cognitive thinking, and ability to focus.

Piracetam
Piracetam is considered to be the godfather of nootropic supplements because it was the first synthetic nootropic released. Piracetam is said to enhance your memory and protect your brain against threats such as stroke and brain disease. This supplement is also believed to help people sharpen their focus and sleep better at night.

Caffeine and L-Theanine Stack
A stack is made up of multiple nootropic compounds. The point is to benefit from all of the qualities of each nootropic, while also developing a custom solution to meet your specific needs. There are some pre-packaged stacks available, and one of the most popular options is the caffeine and L-Theanine stack. The caffeine supplement helps to build up natural energy, while the L-Theanine is reported to improve cognitive thinking and memory retention.

Creatine
Creatine is used by bodybuilders to help encourage the building of body mass, but its user reported effects on the brain also make it a potent nootropic. The most significant benefit that has been associated with Creatine is its potential to enhance short-term memory and recall. This could be very helpful in a business environment where you need to be able to remember the names and faces of people you just met.

Fresh Air

Another easy and effective brain hack is getting outside more often and taking in the fresh air. The air in an office or home tends to be stagnant, and spending most of your time breathing stagnant air does not give your brain the stimulation or oxygen it needs to be at its best. Fortunately, when you get off your seat and take a walk outside, your brain will become stimulated and you will take in some much-needed oxygen.

Down Time

We previously mentioned that these brain hacks that are alternatives to coffee are easy to utilize, and we were not kidding. Another effective and simple way to stimulate the brain and improve your memory is to set aside time each day to wind down and relax. Some people take yoga and others learn to meditate, but the end result is still very positive.

No matter what type of supplement or energy booster you are taking, a jumbled mind is not going to be able to react like you want it to. By stepping outside and taking a deep breath once in a while, you will do a lot more toward improving your focus and memory than if you were to drink another cup of coffee. Going that extra mile and taking yoga or learning to meditate will only enhance an already powerful brain hack.

While coffee can be great for improving memory and focus, it can be a little harsh on the nerves. Additionally, this popular beverage can stain your teeth and keep you awake at night. For these reasons and many more, it is wise to look into alternatives and use brain hacks that will help you improve your memory without the side effects associated with drinking coffee. When getting a good night's rest is more effective at memory retention and more conducive to good health, why would you ever want to drink coffee again?
